Welcome To SCWC
A Note From Pastor Chad...
Whether you are a regular attendee or a new one, thanks for coming this morning. Our services are designed for all of us to understand what scripture has to do with our everyday life. My prayer is that you will learn more about your purpose and draw closer to God this day. If you are new today, sit back, relax, and participate with us in the aspects of the service that you choose to. If you have any questions, just ask, and we will do our best to answer. I would love the opportunity to meet you and your family. After the service, I will stay at the front of the stage for that purpose. Please feel free to bring your family down and introduce yourself. If you are unable to and would still like to talk with me, please call the office during the week or email me at cbrown@scwchurch.org .
Also, would you please fill out a Connection Card letting us know that you were a part of our service. If there is anything you need from us or would like us to pray for you, there is a place for you to let us know. Thank-you!

Roots Small Group Questions
Soul Shift-Part 8;
Chapter 7 Me To We October 01, 2017
Mark 9:33-41; Mark 10:35-37; John 15:12; Romans 14:13; 1Corinthians 12:12-30; Ephesians 4:15; Hebrews 10:24; James 5:13-16;
1. Previously in Soul Shift, Chapter 6 Sheep to Shepherd, how have you transitioned from being just a follower in the church to being a shepherd?
2. When you come to church, who do you associate with? Think about the conversations you have at church. What types of topics do you discuss?
3. Read Mark 9:33-41. How are the disciples displaying a competitive spirit? Have you ever displayed a competitive spirit? How was that competitive spirit shown or displayed to those around you?
4. Sectarian spirits label people as worthy or unworthy and treat them accordingly. Have you seen this happen in our church? What can you do to make a change in how people are treated at church?
5. Read Mark 10:35-37. How are John and James displaying an over zealous spirit? How have you displayed an overzealous spirit?
6. Read 1Corinthians 12:12-30. Paul uses the example of the human body to demonstrate how the different parts work together to make one body. This example parallels the different areas of responsibilities in the church to make the church one. What are the parts or areas of responsibility of our church's body? How do they work together? If one part sees itself as being indispensable and more important than the other parts of the church, what happens?
7. When shifting from 'Me to We' (or individualism to community) what fences do you have that keep you from truly becoming a part of the church?
8. Read James 5:13-16; Hebrews 10:24; and Romans 14:13. How do you fit in our church body?
Something to think about on your own.....
Have you been asked to submit to the church's authority? Think about how you reacted. Will you pray about this situation? (Note. This question does not nee to be answered in class.)
