WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT MARRIAGE?
• The Bible begins with marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24).
• The Bible ends in Revelation with the marriage of Jesus Christ (referred to as the groom) and His bride (the church).
• Between Genesis and Revelation it NEVER EVEN ONCE affirms homosexual marriage OR homosexual acts.
• The consistent teaching throughout all scripture is one man-one woman covenant marriage.

WHAT GENDER IS GOD?
• The Bible never says that God is male.
• The writers of the Old and New Testament most often use masculine terms to describe God - most commonly as a "Father" or "He".
• But God also describes Himself like a nursing mother (Isaiah 49:15)**, and even as a "mother hen" (Matthew 23:37)**.
• God is neither male NOR female. And He is NOT a middle-ground either.
• God is indescribable. How do you describe something that is indescribable?
• Men are known to be strong and protective. Women are known to be thoughtful and tender-hearted. The fact that the Bible uses masculine and feminine terminology to try to describe an indescribable God, shows that God is unique, self-sufficient and complete in and of Himself.
• God is God.

SO WHY DID GOD CREATE TWO GENDERS?
• First of all, remember that we are CREATED in the IMAGE of GOD.
• Now read Jesus' words again in Matthew 19:4-6.
• God CREATED male and female to be joined together. In other words, when man and woman become ONE they most accurately represent the image of God - masculine = strength, feminine - tenderness. Together, man and woman better represent the image of God because BOTH qualities have come together as one.
• We also see that when a woman and a man are joined together, they become co-creators, in a sense, with God - creating a child.
• Again, the Creator created us (in His image) to be creators. Two men, or two women cannot do that.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
• God created marriage from the very beginning. HE defined it clearly. HE instituted it. It was HIS idea from the very start.
• Jesus even said, "What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate."
• Another way of putting this is, "What I have established, no one has the right to redefine."
• Marriage is also an "appetizer" for the main course. At the end times, Revelation describes a marriage between Jesus and His bride, the church. It will be the most incredible, powerful, and beautiful thing. A pure church, in love with it's King, united as ONE with God Himself. If earthly marriage is a small picture of what this great marriage will be someday, we MUST hold to the idea, the definition, and the institution that God originally created.
