Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

Be especially careful when you are trying to be good so that you don’t make a performance out of it. It might be good theater, but the God who made you won’t be applauding. The Message

When you pray 6:5
When you fast 6:16

They have received their reward
giving 6:2,
praying 6:5,
fasting 6:15

But when you give 6:2
But when you pray 6:5
But when you fast 6:16

So that your giving may be in secret 6:4
Pray to your Father who is in secret 6:6
That your fasting may be seen by your Father who is in secret 6:17

And your Father who sees in secret
will reward you 6:4, 6:6, 6:17
