Because church isn’t something we do, it’s God’s doing, and he invites us to participate!
And in him you too are being built together…

Because participating in church connects us to a purpose bigger than ourselves!
Because it’s vital to your spiritual growth, and the growth of the person next to you!
Studies have shown that church attendance in America is down. Why do you think many people have stopped going to church? Has there been a season in your life when you stopped attending? If so, why? What brought you back?
In Ephesians, the Apostle Paul uses the following metaphors to help us understand who we are as the church: a body (1:22-23; 4:15-16), a household (2:19-20), a temple (2:21-22) and a bride (5:25-32).
Read each scripture and reflect on these questions:
What is this metaphor saying about the nature of the church?
What is it saying about the purpose of the church?
How does it motivate me to make participation in the church a top priority?
Read Ephesians 1:3-14 and 2:1-22. Make a list of everything God has done and is doing to create, sustain and grow His Church. Spend time this week reflecting on the list. Thank Him for all that He has done and is doing for the people at Chapel Springs. Ask Him to show you specifically how you can participate this week in His great work through the Church!
