I) When Life Happens (v12a)
- What are the things which happened to Paul?

II) I will lift Him up (v12b-18)
A) He focused on a higher purpose (v 12)

Romans 1:16-17

Why is it the highest purpose?
- To know the God who made you and why you were made
- It is exclusively offered in Jesus Christ
- It is the eternal answer to all death
- It is our immediate calling in the lost world

B) He focused on the current progress of the higher purpose
1) Personal spiritual growth (v13b)
2) Being a witness to unbelievers (v13a)
3) Encouraging other believers (v14)

III) He focused on the positive things

In this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.
