Jesus, Our Champion
A champion in the ancient world was one who engaged in "representative warfare." The champion's victory or defeat meant the collective victory or defeat of those he represented. Here in Hebrews chapter 2, the writer tells us that Jesus is our great champion, and we get to be partakers in his victory over death.
