Justified - declared righteous (innocent) in God's sight

The justice that Jesus brings with His Kingdom is good news for the repentant sinner but not the self-righteous saint

When Jesus brings justice, everyone will receive justice in one of two ways:
- In judgment / condemnation
- In the cross / mercy

How do I experience God’s just mercy rather than His just judgment?

- Weep over sin rather than minimize it

- Confess sin rather than deny it

- Ask for God’s mercy instead of ignoring the need for it

Propitiation – a sacrifice so complete that one’s disposition is changed from anger to favor

- Live humbly not arrogantly

It is not humility to underrate yourself. Humility is to think of yourself, if you can, as God thinks of you. It is to feel that if we have talents, God has given them to us, and let it be seen that, like freight in a vessel, they tend to sink us low. The more we have, the lower we ought to lie. – C. H.
