In the Beginning - The Good News of JESUS According to John Week 1

In times of uncertainty the best thing we can do is fix our eyes upon Jesus and abide in him. This week we launch a new sermon series focussing on the good news of Jesus according to John's gospel.

Locations & Times

Yass Community Baptist Church

50 Laidlaw St, Yass NSW 2582, Australia

Sunday 10:00 AM

In the Beginning
Each of the four gospel writers began in a different way. John begins his account of Jesus life and ministry with these familiar words, "In the beginning." The echo of Genesis is not a coincidence. John wants us to cast our mind back to eternal past to see who Jesus really is.
The Darkness Has Not Overcome the Light
John describes the Word, Jesus, as the one who created all things, in whom is the light of life. The light shines into the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. That is a message we need to be reminded of in this season. The light of Jesus shining into the darkness of this world cannot be overcome.
Salvation and New Identity to Those Who Believe
Jesus came into the world and not all receive him, not all believe in him. But to those who do receive him and put their trust in him a new identity as a child of God is given.
The Word Became Flesh
The Word did not come into the world in his almighty power but in human flesh that he might redeem humanity. From him we receive grace and truth. Grace for salvation and the truth of the revelation of the nature of God.
