WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDY
Study Book: Epistle of Jude
Study Method: Inductive Bible Study (IBS)
Study Goal: Rooted in the Word
Introduction and Exposition on the Epistle of Jude
The title of the Epistle takes its name from its author, and most Bible scholars identify the writer as Jude the half-brother of Jesus for at least two reasons. First, he identified himself as the “brother of James” (Jude 1:1), meaning he was probably not the apostle named Jude, a man who was called “the son of James” (Luke 6:16). Second, Matthew 13:55 records the names of the brothers of Jesus as James and Judas. Whereas the gospels record his name as Judas, English translations shorten it to Jude.
The Epistle was assumed to be written in AD 66 – 80. Jude’s purpose in his letter was twofold: he wanted to expose the false teachers that had infiltrated the Christian community, and he wanted to encourage Christians to stand firm in the faith and fight for the truth.

Inductive Bible Study (IBS) helps to find the central truth in a bible passage and build that truth into our lives. It is the use of inductive method and inductive reasoning to study the bible.
Inductive Method/Reasoning starts with many observations of the subject matter, with the goal of finding a powerful statement and pattern in the in the study subject. It is a logical process in which multiple premises, all believed true or found true most of the time, are combined to obtain a specific conclusion.
Inductive Bible Study consists three components: Observation, Interpretation, and Application. These three basic parts and steps are very important to Inductive Bible Study approach.
Observation: What does it says?
Interpretation: What does it mean?
Application: How does the meaning apply to me?
Approach:
Ask the "5Ws" and an "H".
As you study any passage of scripture, train yourself to constantly ask: Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?. These questions are the building blocks of precise observation, which is essential for accurate interpretation.
Note: For more detail, Please request for IBS Manual.
