"Me, My Selfie, and I"-Abraham: Look to the Stars
Have you ever put on a happy face even when things were not good in your life? This week, we will talk about how our culture, social media, and even church coach us to put on a happy face and bury those things about ourselves that may seem ugly to our peers, and how detrimental that can be to our faith. Join us as we continue our series "Abraham: Look to the Stars" with a sermon entitled "Me, My Selfie, and I."

Abraham: Look to the Stars
Over the last few weeks, my wife and I have been praying, preparing, and packing (Oh the packing!) for our move to Roanoke. In the process of packing, we have found many things we thought were lost; I found an old favorite t-shirt of mine that ended up behind a shoe rack in our closet, and our dog found an old toy that he lost under a bed months ago. In times of transition, God has a way of revealing those things about our lives that we wish would stay hidden. He brings them to light so that He can redeem them. In Ephesians 4:17-24, Paul tells us that Christ came to help us “Put off our old selves...and be made new.” In this series, we will talk about Abraham, whom everyone assumes was a perfectly godly man, but had to allow God to reveal and correct His hidden doubts before he could truly be used for God’s glory. Whether you have been to church every Sunday for the last year, or even if it has been quite a while since you’ve been to church, please join us for this powerful series.

In the last few weeks, we've considered what might be lurking in our past and those roadblocks that may be blocking us in our present, from pursuing God's plan for our lives and our church. This week, we will discuss God's plan to move us over and past these blockades.
Abraham had regrets about how handled a tough situation in his past. He is trying to protect those hurt by his mistakes.
Whenever there is conflict between you and another Christ follower, you can almost always trace it back to unfaithfulness to God. God does not bring a spirit of dissension.
