GOD IS A PROMISE KEEPING GOD
There’s a PROMISE for every situation. When Satan tries to drag you down, you reply with a PROMISE. When people cause you to doubt, you reply with a PROMISE. When circumstances don’t go your way, you will have a PROMISE from God to get you through that storm.

THE PROMISE: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)
WHAT GOD STARTS – HE FINISHES
WHAT GOD STARTS – HE FINISHES
WHAT GOOD WORK HAS GOD STARTED? OUR SALVATION
God’s work FOR US began when Jesus died on the cross in our place. Sometimes we take that for granted – that was the moment that our salvation became secure. But, in that moment it looked as if God’s PLAN was over and finished and was not brought to COMPLETION.

The Messiah was dead. The disciples had run away. All hope was gone. It seemed as if God did NOT finish what He started.
THE PROMISE: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)

God’s work FOR US began when Christ died on the cross in our place. Even in that moment, it looked as if God’s plan was over and it would never be finished. But that was only the beginning for you and for me. WHY?
Because God’s work IN US began when you and I first believed.
Because God’s work IN US began when you and I first believed.
If God won’t GIVE UP on us, don’t you dare GIVE UP on Him!
If God FINISHES what He STARTS – we need to do the same thing in our relationship with God. Don’t be a QUITTER when it comes to your relationship with God. The Holy Spirit lives in us and will enable us to be more like Jesus every day.
THE TRUTH: Following Jesus and His plan for our lives is TOUGH. We will hit roadblocks and hurdles and setbacks and disappointments and failures – but this PROMISE is a call to all of to NOT QUIT and to NOT GIVE UP. We do whatever we can so that God can FINISH WHAT HE STARTED.

WHY DO WE KEEP GOING?
We can because He does – He finishes what He starts.
It’s a relationship marked by GRACE and PATIENCE. There’s nothing we can do that will cause God to love us any less – or to GIVE UP on us.

THE REAL QUESTION: HAS GOD GIVEN UP ON ME?
Maybe you made a mistake. Maybe you walked away. Maybe you stopped pursuing Jesus. Maybe you stopped believing because something horrible happened to you. Maybe you stopped making church a priority. Maybe you stopped reading your Bible and praying. Maybe you stopped making your relationship with Jesus a priority. MAYBE YOU DECIDED TO QUIT.
THE PROMISE: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)
He’s not done with you – even if you tried to be done with Him. You might wonder if His love and grace have worn out on you. NO. Just repent and keep returning to Jesus. If God won’t give up on us, don’t you dare give up on your relationship with Jesus. The Holy Spirit is with us and God will FINISH what He started in you. When it gets tough, keep going. When you’re discouraged, keep going. Don’t let this fizzle out and turn into a life full of REGRET. Let God FINISH what He started in you!
