The problem is self-addiction is just like any other destructive addiction. It's never enough. It never delivers what it promises, and in the end it destroys.
The gospel frees us from self-obsession and self-addiction.
Whoever serves without the benefit of being repaid with earthly riches or recognition follows Jesus on his path.
Are certain jobs beneath you?
Do you get angry when you are not given credit for your work?
Do you insist on setting the record straight when someone says something incorrect about you or others on social media?
Do you get mad when friends or family members don’t ask for your advice?
Are you even more enraged when they ask for it but then don't follow it?
Do you often think, “they're doing it wrong”?
Do you get bitter when you see other people succeed?
Do you get angry when you are not given credit for your work?
Do you insist on setting the record straight when someone says something incorrect about you or others on social media?
Do you get mad when friends or family members don’t ask for your advice?
Are you even more enraged when they ask for it but then don't follow it?
Do you often think, “they're doing it wrong”?
Do you get bitter when you see other people succeed?
Being “the servant of all” does not mean you think less of yourself, but it's you think of yourself less.
On the great day of Jesus’ return, you will not regret one moment of lowly service.
Making yourself last and putting other people first for the name of Christ is where you will find your deepest joy.
