ECC-Evangelical Covenant Church

Rise Up & Build: Under the Good Hand of God
Sundays 9:00am and 10:30am. This summer we will be working our way through the Old Testament book of Nehemiah, the story of a simple but faithful man used by God to accomplish something extraordinary. Nehemiah has much to teach us about God, God's ways in the world, and the nature of leadership.

Questions to ponder: What leadership characteristics do you see at work in Nehemiah's life and ministry? How might these apply to the areas in which you have influence (home, neighborhood, workplace, school, ministry)?
Questions to ponder: What in your life or relationships, or in our congregational life, is in need of assessment? What "damage" is in need of God's healing and restorative work? Even more importantly, where are the signs of hope and life, even among "the ruins"? How might you pray for that hope to grow and transform these areas of life?
Spiritual practice: Think of a difficult time of life that you've been through. As you look back, where do you see the "good hand of God" at work, sustaining, guiding, and bringing blessing out of evil? Pause and give thanks to God for his sovereignty and goodness.
Prayer for the Week: Keep, O Lord, your household the Church in your steadfast faith and love, that through your grace we may proclaim your truth with boldness, and minister your justice with compassion; for the sake of our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
