Overcoming the Roadblock of Worry
Series: Overcoming Life’s Roadblocks Worry makes us take sides with the enemy in concluding that God is not capable in His promises and not worthy of our trust and our worship. In this prison epistle there is not even one slight hint of worry, fear, anxiety or fretting.

a. The Command of our Rejoicing.
Living a life of happiness and rejoicing is not an option for the Christian, it is an imperative.
b. The Condition of our Rejoicing.
Our rejoicing is not based upon our life's situations,
But rather upon our Lord's sufficiency.
c. The Constancy of our Rejoicing.
The Lord is telling us that our rejoicing is not to be periodic but perpetual.
The principle is - "Happiness is a Choice!"
You can learn to be happy and enjoy every single day of your God-given life.
d. The Consequences of our Rejoicing.
Peace of mind gives you spiritual, physical and emotional stability.
“Commit your works to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established” (Proverbs 16:3).
Joy does not produce rejoicing, rejoicing produces joy!
II. OVERCOME WORRY BY BEING REASONABLE IN THE LORD
What a testimony Christians could have in the world if we took Jesus seriously and really did respond to injustice with kindness.
III. OVERCOME WORRY BY RESTING IN THE LORD
a. Live Life With A Sacred Priority.
Fervent prayer ALWAYS moves a believer to the position of giving thanks.
Our all-knowing Father knows our difficulties and the solutions before we ever experience them.
When we make God our sacred priority, worry flees away.
b. Live Life With A Sure Peace.
You will only find peace in the person – Jesus Christ.
- When you stop trusting you start worrying.
- When you start trusting, you stop worrying.
- First comes peace with God,
- Second comes peace of God.
- And third, it results in the praise of God.
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7).
My faith looks up to thee
Thou Lamb of Calvary
Savior divine
Now hear me while I pray
Take all my guilt away
O let me from this day
Be wholly thine
While life's dark maze I tread
And griefs around me spread
Be thou my guide
Bid darkness turn to day
Wipe sorrow's tears away
Nor let me ever stray
From thee aside
