Introduction: I’ve got some bad news for you, but also some good news:

A. The Bad News: There will always be relational breakdowns in life.

B. The Good News: Almost any relationship can be repaired with one simple key.

The key to restoring broken relationships is humility.

Job 22:29 (TEV) - God brings down the proud and saves the humble.

The steps to restoration...

Step 1. I must ask for God’s help.

Step 2. I must affirm their value.

A. I must actually listen to them.

B. I must validate their feelings.

Step 3. I must acknowledge my responsibility and my sin.

Step 4. I must allow others to be human.

1 Corinthians 13:7 (NJB) – [Love] is always ready to make allowances, to trust, to hope and to endure whatever comes.

Step 5. I must adjust to their needs.

6. I must be prepared to abandon my rights.
