“Anoint” means to set someone apart, to authorize and equip him or her for a task of spiritual importance.
Jesus Christ was set apart by the work of the Holy Spirit for his ministry of preaching, healing and deliverance.
"Anointing" expresses the sanctifying influences of the Holy Spirit upon Christians who are priests and kings unto God.
You cannot be a recipient of the power of the Spirit unless you are a recipient of the Spirit Himself.
