Sermon Overview
This week we continue in the series called Jesus is Greater Than. I was told recently that Ravi Zacharias once said that if we expect to be able to lead people from other faith backgrounds to Jesus we must know some about what they believe. This week we will look at the Jehovah's Witnesses. The group emerged from the Bible Student Movement founded in the late 1870s by Charles Taze Russell, who also co-founded Zion's Watch Tower Tract Society in 1881 to organize and print the movement's publications. They don't believe in the Trinity and are tightly controlled by the governing body or group of elders in New York. This group is not Christian and changes the Bible as the elders want. Our church needs to know what this group believes because very likely they know someone who belongs to this cult.

Jehovah's Witness Teach A Different GOSPEL Than The Bible Teaches
Jehovah's Witness
- Don't believe in the Trinity, Jesus is God's creation and the Holy Spirit is an impersonal force.
- New World Translation of the Bible, their own translation adds and subtracts portions.
- Salvation through faith and works with an emphasis on works.
- Don't believe in Eternal judgment in Hell. Second chance after death and then inhalation.
- Believe that 144,000 will be saved by God and the Kingdom of God is a government that was established in 1914, Jesus already returned but that return was invisible.
- Don't believe in the Trinity, Jesus is God's creation and the Holy Spirit is an impersonal force.
