CONVERSATION STARTERS
Conversation Starters help us dig deeper, connecting Sunday’s sermons with our Monday lives. These prompts have been designed to help Community Groups grow in their relationship with God, with one another, and with their neighbors. Please know that these questions are meant to be a resource to you. You do not have to follow them verbatim or get through them all. We trust you to know your group and to ask the questions based on your group needs.

1) When asked the question, “How do you picture the Kingdom of God?”, what images come into your mind?

2) Review Luke 14:16-20 and the excuses made by those that were invited to the party. What kinds of excuses do we make today that prevent us from being present and growing with God?

3) The invited guests prioritized possessions, work and family over quality time with Jesus and His people. In your life, which of these things most strongly competes for your attention and priorities?

4) We have been challenged to invite someone to our home who is different in some way. Who will you invite? What fears do you have about taking this step?

Prayer Requests

As a staff it is a privilege to pray for our congregation. Social distance does not change that! If you are in need of prayer click the link to fill out an online prayer request.

Title: The Great Banquet
Scripture: Luke 14:15-24
Speaker: Taylor Fair, TaylorF@ChristCommunityKC.org
"The function of imagination is not to make strange things settled, so much as to make settled things strange; not so much to make wonders facts as facts wonders." - G.K. Chesterton
>> My feast is ready for you:
- So come
>> Do my priorities keep me from God’s table?
>> My feast is ready for you:
- So come
- So look around
>> Does my imagination of God’s table need reshaped?
>> My feast is ready for you:
- So come
- So look around
- So welcome others in
"Christians reading this, anywhere in the world, must work out in their own churches and families what it would mean to celebrate God’s kingdom so that the people at the bottom of the pile, at the end of the line, would find it good news. It isn’t enough to say that we ourselves are the people dragged in from the country lanes, to our surprise, to enjoy God’s party. That may be true; but party guests are then expected to become party hosts in their turn. - N.T. Wright, Luke for Everyone
>> Does my table reflect God’s table?
