Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Anchored to Hope

Hebrews 6:19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,

Hebrews 6:18-20 AMP “so that by two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled [to Him] for refuge would have strong encouragement and indwelling strength to hold tightly to the hope set before us. This hope [this confident assurance] we have as an anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whatever pressure bears upon it]--a safe and steadfast hope that enters within the veil [of the heavenly temple, that most Holy Place in which the very presence of God dwells],

God wants you to live with hope.

Most of the time when we are talking about an anchor we are talking about boating.

The writer of Hebrews is telling us to connect the anchor to our soul.

When an anchor is dropped into the water, it allows some movement of the boat, but not relocation.

When your soul is anchored to hope, no mater how difficult life's challenges; No matter what comes your way, it may move you but it won't relocate you.

My question is are you anchored?

Are you looking to the left or the right.

Proverbs 4:20-27 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you. Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you. Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil.

Be careful not to pull up your anchor!

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

You can't have FAITH if you don't live in HOPE

King David had a lot coming against him.

Psalms 42:1-11 As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually say to me, "Where is your God?" When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went with them to the house of God, With the voice of joy and praise, With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance. O my God, my soul is cast down within me; Therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan, And from the heights of Hermon, From the Hill Mizar. Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me. The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me—A prayer to the God of my life. I will say to God my Rock, "Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?" As with a breaking of my bones, My enemies reproach me, While they say to me all day long, "Where is your God?" Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.

You may not have any reason in the natural to be hopeful.

You may be considering taking things into your own hands.

Genesis 16:1-2 Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. And she had an Egyptian maidservant whose name was Hagar. So Sarai said to Abram, "See now, the LORD has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go in to my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her." And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai.

He is 85 yrs old now and is taking matters into his own hands.

Abraham made the choice to pull up his anchor.

It wasn't Sarai's fault.

Some of you need to stop blaming everyone else for your problems.

You have your own anchor and nobody can pull it up but you.

Zechariah 9:12 Return to the stronghold, You prisoners of hope. Even today I declare That I will restore double to you.

Don't pull up your anchor.

If you can keep your anchor down, God is about to give you double for your trouble.

God will restore your joy.

God will restore your peace.

Joel 2:21-26 Fear not, O land; Be glad and rejoice, For the LORD has done marvelous things! Do not be afraid, you beasts of the field; For the open pastures are springing up, And the tree bears its fruit; The fig tree and the vine yield their strength. Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the LORD your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully,[fn] And He will cause the rain to come down for you—The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. "So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame.

You need to anchor your soul to Hope!

I want you to get your anchor in the promises of His Word.

There is a promise for you.

Romans 4:18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, "So shall your descendants be."

Contrary to what it looked like.
Contrary to what it felt like.
Contrary to what natural hope predicts.

Sometimes it may get worse before it gets better.

You need to hope against hope.

Romans 4:20-22 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore "it was accounted to him for righteousness."

If you do the right things you will have the right things.

Don't Quit!

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

If you keep doing the right things, you're going to have a due season.

The devil can delay it, but he can't stop it.

Luke 18:1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,

2 Corinthians 4:1 Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Having the right routines will always give you the right results.

Nothing can grow naturally or Spiritually without resistance.

Your faith will grow when you have resistance.

Get your anchor down.

Don't drift from the Promises!
Don't drift from his Word!
Don't drift from Church!

If your anchor is up your going to drift.

Life's current is always moving away from hope.

That's what life will do without an anchor.

You need to get your soul anchored in Hope.

Get anchored to Gods Word!
