Paul Ford, Knocking over the Leadership Ladder, "Spiritual gifts really are the power of God, more than just natural talents or learned skills. It is where the power of God rises up beyond the natural and into the supernatural powerful realm."

1. EVERY CHRISTIAN HAS A MOTIVATIONAL GIFT
When we were born, we possessed certain natural abilities and certain motivation al abilities. Romans 12:5, 6 “So we being many are one body in Christ and everyone members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that was given us…

Paul describes seven spiritual gifts, distributed to different members in the body of Christ. And every believer is a steward of the abilities he or she has been given.
The gifts in Romans 12 are commonly called "motivational gifts," which means they are central to our lives.– The Maxwell Leadership Bible

2. CHOOSE TO SERVE GOD WITHIN YOUR GIFTING
... begin by choosing... to be transformed in Christ rather than being conformed to the world.

3. EACH GIFT IS DESIGNED FOR THE FUNCTION OF THE BODY OF CHRIST
Each Christian has a particular and necessary function in the Body of Christ. Exercise our gift strengthens the ministry of the Body of Christ.

HINDRANCES TO DISCOVERING GIFT1. UNRESOLVED PROBLEMS IN ONE'S LIFE.
It is significant that the gifts of Romans 12 are not mentioned until the moral conflicts of Romans 1 through 11 are dealt with.

2. LACK OF INVOLVEMENT WITH THE NEEDS OF OTHER PEOPLE. Our gifts are stirred up and discovered as we focus on the needs of others rather than what our ministry is to be. A servant’s heart is essential to discover our spiritual gift.
