Pastor Naomi Eden- Truth in Times of Confusion

John 14:16-17 The Message (MSG)The Spirit of Truth

16-17 I will talk to the Father, and he’ll provide you another Friend so that you will always have someone with you. This Friend is the Spirit of Truth.
The Spirit of truth will cause you to perceive what the father is saying to you.
Acts 27:10-25 New King James Version
10 saying, “Men, I perceive that this voyage will end with disaster and much loss, not only of the cargo and ship, but also our lives.” 11 Nevertheless the centurion was more persuaded by the helmsman and the owner of the ship than by the things spoken by Paul.
Acts 27:12-13 (NKJV)
12 And because the harbor was not suitable to winter in, the majority advised to set sail from there also, if by any means they could reach Phoenix, a harbor of Crete opening toward the southwest and northwest, and winter there.
13 When the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their desire, putting out to sea, they sailed close by Crete.
Acts 27:14-15 (NKJV)
14 But not long after, a tempestuous head wind arose, called Euroclydon. 15 So when the ship was caught, and could not head into the wind, we let herdrive. Wind: In the greek is a typhoon. That sort of a wind will take you of course. It interferes with timing. The wind blew against their purpose. All because they didn't listen to Paul.
Acts 27:21-22 (NKJV)
21 But after long abstinence from food, then Paul stood in the midst of them and said, “Men, you should have listened to me, and not have sailed from Crete and incurred this disaster and loss. 22 And now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.
You should have listened to me
Acts 27:23-25 (NKJV)
23 For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve, 24 saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.’ 25 Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.
The Spirit of truth will guide you through the hard truths
It can be hard to face the truth
Psalm 51:6 The Passion Translation (TPT)
6 I know that you delight to set your truth deep in my spirit. So come into the hidden places of my heart and teach me wisdom.
The Spirit of truth will direct you through your confusion
Psalm 119:105 The Passion Translation (TPT)Truth’s Shining Light
105 Truth’s shining light guides me in my choices and decisions; The revelation of your word makes my pathway clear.
John 18:37-38 New International Version (NIV)
37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”38 “What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said,
John 8:32 The Passion Translation (TPT)
32 For if you embrace the truth, it will release more freedom into your lives.”
The anchoring effect: Challenging old information that has become anchored in your mind with new information.
The Spirit of truth comes into your pain
Romans 8:26 The Passion Translation (TPT)
26 And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words.
Matthew 7:24-27 The Message (MSG)
24-25 “These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock.
The Spirit of truth desires to minister through you
