Going Deeper is designed for use with your small group, a friend or on you own. Its aim is to create time for you to spend with God and his word. Do as much or as little as you like. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact one of our pastoral staff.

1. Pray for the needs of your Life Group, for our church and our leaders, for personal and corporate renewal, and to allow God’s word to transform us.

2. This Sunday launched the Art of Neighbouring series, focusing on the Glencairn vision statement and the question, “Who is my neighbour”. What thoughts or questions did the service raise for you? Which thoughts or points encouraged you or posed a challenge to you?

3. Glencairn’s mission is inviting others to join us in following Jesus; we do that primarily by embracing neighbours into a life-changing faith family (our vision statement). Discuss these two statements. Unpack the significance of each word in the vision statement.

4. Did you complete the survey sent out with the newsletter about how you neighbour? What are some of your preferred ways to connect with your neighbours or others in your circles of influence?

5. Are you satisfied with your engagement with others or do you wish for something more? What do you think would help you to get there?

7. As part of Jesus’ mission to save humanity, he left heaven to become a poor peasant. If we are to become more Christ-like, what does this idea mean for you?

8. Take a moment of silence as you consider how God is speaking to you. Do you sense an invitation to something new? What concrete steps of response do you want to take? How can your group support you in these steps?
