Better For It - How to Respond to a Crisis

Better For It - How to Respond to a Crisis

While we don't always choose our circumstances, we do have the ability to choose our responses. But the response that has the potential to reverse the natural course of things isn't natural at all.

Pain without gain is a shame.
How can we be better for it?
-------
What have we been doing that almost led to our undoing?
How can we be better for it?
-------
What should we begin doing that we should have been doing all along?
It would be tragic to forget the lessons that we’ve learned and it would certainly be tragic to lose the perspective that so many of us have gained.
Simply wanting or intending to be better for this means that nothing may happen as a result.
For there to be actual change, you have to engage with the question.
Your Superpower
------------
An innate ability that empowers you to be better for anything that comes or came your way.
We didn’t choose the pandemic.
------------
It chose us.
------------
But it left us with choices.
Your Superpower empowers you to: turn bad things into good things, turn wrong things into right things, and thwart the evil intent of evil people.
Your Superpower is easy to miss in times of crisis. But if you engage it, you will Better For It.
Your Superpower
-------
Respond-ability
Choosing a response rather than have it dictated to you because of circumstances
Reacting sets us up to be a reflection of the things we despise, the people we do not respect.
A faith-filled response has the power to redeem pain and suffering.
Your Superpower
-------
…is why you can be better for it.
Your Superpower
-------
The response that has the potential to reverse the natural course of things isn’t natural.
This is the life that YOU have been invited into. The life where you CHOOSE your response.
At the epicenter of our faith stands a man who | surrendered to his enemies | chose not to defend himself at his trial | chose not to save himself, and as a result, saved others.
Never underestimate the power of a measured response.

Twelve Tribes of Israel (Joseph)
Joseph was Jacob’s favorite son from Jacob’s favorite wife.
When God is with you, things work out for you.
Christians have never believed this.
Over and over again, we find men and women who faced extraordinary adversity and discovered that God was with them in it and through it.
He responded as if God was with him when it looked as if God had abandoned him.
How would someone in your circumstances respond if they were confident God was with them?
Your answer to this question is your invitation to exercise your Superpower.
Never underestimate the power of a measured response.
Why care?

Why try?

Bad things have been happening to good people for a very long time, even people that God is with.
How would someone in my circumstances respond
How would someone in my circumstances respond if they were confident God was with them?
Your answer to this question is your invitation to exercise in that area of life your Superpower, your respond-ability.
Never underestimate the power of a measured, faith-filled response.
Let’s not simply get through this. Let’s be better for it.
How would someone in your circumstances respond if they were confident God was with them?
Your current circumstances are a chapter in your story. They are not the entire story.
