CONVERSATION STARTERS
The following discussion questions are intended to help your Community Group have a family discussion addressing the topic of systemic racism in America, and examine our hearts in the matter. We recognize that the issue is not a quickly-solved one, so we encourage you to spend a quality portion of your time in prayer for the Spirit's guidance, soul healing and redemption of our land.

1) How are you feeling in light of recent events around the country? What’s the one word you would use to describe it?

2) Who are you listening to and learning from during this time, and are these voices helping you become more like Christ?

3) Pray for:
• Our minority brothers and sisters, that the Lord would sustain them

• For ears to hear the hurt and frustration that people are sharing, and not become defensive

• For our civic leaders, for wisdom and favor, to make necessary changes for justice in our city and world

•For Christ Community, to be loving neighbors to all as Jesus taught us to be

Title: The Lord's Prayer
Scripture: Luke 11:1-4
Speaker: Taylor Fair, TaylorF@ChristCommunityKC.org
>> Your Father loves to be asked.
- Ask simply.
- Ask expectantly.
- Ask for God’s presence.
"Simple Prayer involves ordinary people bringing ordinary concerns to a loving and compassionate Father...we do not pretend to be more holy, more pure, or more saintly than we actually are. We do not try to conceal our conflicting and contradictory motives from God—or ourselves. And in this posture we pour out our heart to the God who is greater than our heart and who knows all things." - Richard Foster

"Anything large enough for a wish to light upon, is large enough to hang a prayer upon." - George MacDonald
