We're continuing our new series @RDC entitled WORD. Rather than a resolution--we're choosing a WORD. By the way, RDC is making a collage of words for 2017 and would love to have yours on the collage!

Introduction To One-Word
The concept of using one-word for 365 days is to have a key to strengthen an individual's management of life, deepening marriage and family relationships, encouraging discipline as well as passion.

The one-word is a prayer in itself, leading to the best story, providing guardrails to what belongs and does not belong, giving reason to do only what matters, producing daily inspiration.

RDC commits to think, speak, and live with focus on one-word, sharing it with one another, allowing the word to be a prophecy of what will be.
The one-word is God-breathed with life, giving way to a miraculous mindset.

It’s one-word filled deep with hope, grace, and peace. It’s centered in the meaning of life, which is relational love.

Key God-Word
"Let the words from the book of the law be always on your lips. Meditate on them day and night so that you may be careful to live by all that is written in it. If you do, as you make your way through this world, you will prosper and always find success." (Joshua 1:8)

KEY THOUGHTS FROM THE "WORD" SERIES
1. Ask God to guide you to your word for 2017.
Just ask and it will be given to you; seek after it and you will find. Continue to knock and the door will be opened for you. All who ask receive. Those who seek, find what they seek. And he who knocks, will have the door opened. (Matthew 7:7-8, Voice)
2. Your word is a direct connection to God. The Hebrew word, qâvâh, means to bind with God. This is an intentional spiritual discipline that makes us stronger.
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken (Ecc. 4:12, NLT).
3. Your word speaks life when it holds a message of hope, the kind of hope that comes from Jesus, giving you a vision for the "not-yet." Vision is imperative for living the best life.
But those who trust in the Eternal One will regain their strength. They will soar on wings as eagles. They will run—never winded, never weary. They will walk—never tired, never faint. (Isaiah 40:31, Voice).
(Trust can be exchanged for the words--hope and wait.)

Focus today:
Your word opens the door to the more of God when it's encapsulated in grace.

Grace is:
1.
2.
3.
4.
GRACE:
CHEN (Hebrew) ~ CHARIS (Greek) meaning favor, one in authority bends or stoops to those without authority in kindness.

Key God-Word
John 8 Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2 He awoke early in the morning to return to the temple. When He arrived, the people surrounded Him, so He sat down and began to teach them. 3 While He was teaching, the scribes and Pharisees brought in a woman who was caught in the act of adultery; and they stood her before Jesus.
Pharisees: 4 Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 Moses says in the law that we are to kill such women by stoning. What do You say about it?
6 This was all set up as a test for Jesus; His answers would give them grounds to accuse Him of crimes against Moses’ law. Jesus bent over and wrote something in the dirt with His finger. 7 They persisted in badgering Jesus, so He stood up straight.
Jesus: Let the first stone be thrown by the one among you who has not sinned.
8 Once again Jesus bent down to the ground and resumed writing with His finger. 9 The Pharisees who heard Him stood still for a few moments and then began to leave slowly, one by one, beginning with the older men. Eventually only Jesus and the woman remained, 10 and Jesus looked up.
Jesus: Dear woman, where is everyone? Are we alone? Did no one step forward to condemn you?
Woman Caught in Adultery: 11 Lord, no one has condemned me.
Jesus: Well, I do not condemn you either; all I ask is that you go and from now on avoid the sins that plague you.] (Voice).

Key Thought
WITHOUT GRACE:
WITH GRACE:

BUT
. . . My GRACE is enough to cover and sustain you.
(2 Corinthians 12:9a, Voice).

GRACE is:
1.
2.

New Year BLESSING
May this new year be a great story,
365 pages of more than you’ve ever imagined,
in and through a new strong hope that will not bend or break.

May you know that your name is written
on the scar-lined hands of the Eternal
with an incomprehensible and unstoppable love,
which gives reason to look forward to each new day.

May you soar as on eagles wings
as the favor of God rests on you,
giving you energy and passion
to be who you are to be and do what you are to do.

May this new year be grace-filled, healing, and miraculous,
filled with peace and joy for you and your all.
