DON'T SKIMP ON THE PRAISE

I don’t think that God is pleased when we skimp on our worship and our praise to Him, because it is not like His nature, when God blesses us:

· Our cup runs over

· It is more than abundance

· The windows of heaven are opened up and blessings are poured out

· It comes back in good measure, pressed down and shaken together spilling over into our lap

When God blesses us it is always more than enough!!!
SOURCE OF THE SHOUT

I want to draw our attention to the elder son and his attitude. All that the father wanted to do was to give the best that he had to celebrate the homecoming of his youngest son.

I think that we will all agree that, God the Father wants us to celebrate His goodness. He wants us to worship Him in liberty and freedom. And that He wants us to enjoy His gifts and His blessings. Then we need to get to the place where we stop looking at what everyone else is doing or not doing and focus on the Savior and go ahead and give the Lord our highest praise.

As we look at this illustration that Christ used we see that the youngest son had insulted his father by asking for his inheritance before his father’s death.

But when the money was gone, so were the girls and the so-called friends, and he was left with nothing. He eventually managed to get a job feeding pigs, but it was not enough.

It was when he had reached the bottom and couldn’t go any lower, that he finally came to his senses. He was prepared to give up his sonship and be nothing more than a servant.
SOURCE OF THE SHOUT

Jesus implies that this broken hearted father routinely looked out over the horizon for any sign of his boy. The father immediately began to celebrate even as the boy tried to beg for forgiveness for his actions.
SOURCE FO THE SHOUT

The father doesn’t yell at the boy, or lecture the boy, or argue with the boy. He says, "My prayers have been answered. My boy has come home. Go kill the fattest calf on the farm! It's time to shout, it’s time to dance, it’s time to sing and to celebrate!

Does you have a reason to shout and to praise the Lord? Don’t hold back, don’t skimp on the praise, and don’t pull out your second best. Sometimes we shout because we’ve got joy, and other times we shout until we get joy. It is all about giving God our very best.
SOUR SILENCE

This is good news, but the older brother had become SOUR and he decided that he didn’t want anything to do with this party.

Don’t get mad when the person next to you starts to shout. You don’t know the cost of someone their praise. We don’t know what God has brought them through or what they are going through right now and are just trying to praise their way out.

We need to remember is that it’s not about us, it is all about Him!
SOLICIT A SHOUT

Entreated - Ask someone earnestly or anxiously to do something.

When the elder brother would not come in, the father goes out to solicit, to ENTREAT, to beg to ask earnestly for the elder son to join the celebration. The father wanted everyone involved in this celebration. He didn’t want anyone left out.

Look how the older brother answers the father...
SOLICIT A SHOUT

He doesn’t even want to claim that this is his brother.

We see this same attitude in the church.

It doesn’t make them less family because they did drugs and lived on the streets and all you did was lie. There is no difference in “big sins” and “little sins”.

Instead of wondering why they have to be so demonstrative in their worship. Remember that they are your family and they were dead and now they are alive in Christ, so celebrate with them.
SQUANDERED SHOUT

The younger son wanted it all right now, without the sacrifice of energy or effort. On the other hand, the elder son was such a miser that he wouldn’t use the opportunities he had, to enjoy what was right there in front of him. He didn’t want a party, but he didn’t want anyone else to have one either.

Some people don’t want to shout, and they don’t want anyone else to either. They don’t want to celebrate, and they don’t want you to dance, or praise, or clap your hands in worship and adoration unto God either.

Give God your best. Give Him everything you’ve got. You are a child of the King, so go ahead and splurge on a shout and pour out a praise, because He is worth it.
SQUANDERED SHOUT

The fact that you or the person next to you has been born again is a good reason to shout. We were all dead in sin, but by the precious blood of Christ Jesus look at us now…WE ARE ALIVE AND WE ARE BRAND NEW!!!

It is right that we should make a joyful noise and be glad. It is a good thing to praise the Lord.

God deserves our best praise!!! Not only does God deserve our best, He is worthy of our best. He’s worthy of our best worship, our highest praise, and yes, He is worthy of a shout.

We don’t praise just because we feel like it. Sometimes we just have to praise until we feel like.
