"Divorce is just not an option for us." - Philip and Laura Rose

"He genuinely repented. And everything began to change." - Laura Rose

"You can't have the marriage you want without surrounding yourselves around God's people. Don't try to do this alone." - Philip and Laura Rose
So How Can We Move Forward in Marriage? How can we pursue Oneness daily?

3 Things:

1) Identify the Issues ("foxes")
Song of Solomon 2:15

2) Set the Boundaries

Example of Boundaries
1. Words
2. Truth
3. Consequences
4. Emotional Distance
5. Physical Distance
6. Other People
7. Time

3) Live within the Laws
Law #1 - The Law of Sowing and Reaping
Our actions have consequences

Law #2 - The Law of Responsibility
We are responsible TO each other, but not FOR each other

Galatians 6:2,5
Law #3 - The Law of Power
We have power over some things; we don't have power over other things (including changing people)

Law #4 - The Law of Respect If we wish for others to respect our boundaries, we must respect theirs
Law #5 - The Law of Motivation
We must be free to say 'no' before we can wholeheartedly say 'yes'

Law #6 - The Law of Evaluation
We need to evaluate the pain our boundaries cause others
Law #7 - The Law of Proactivity
We take action to solve problems based on our values, wants, and needs

Proactivity has 3 facets
1) Reactive boundaries are necessary in marriage
2) Reactive boundaries however aren't sufficient for growth in marriage
3) Proactive boundaries maintain the triangle of love, freedom and reality

Law #8 - The Law of Envy
We will never get what we want in our relationship if we focus outside our boundaries into what others have
Law #9 - The Law of Activity
We need to take the initiative in setting limits rather than being passive.

Law #10 - The Law of Exposure
We need to communicate our boundaries to each other
