But what allowed Moses to hear that extraordinary call?
1. Moses did the little things!

a. Exodus 3:1 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

b. Moses went from royalty to shepherd.

c. Circumstances today, if faithful can prepare you for tomorrow.
2. Moses was intrigued by the bush.

a. Exodus 3:2-3 There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”

b. The bush drew Moses in.

c. Wonder sparks opportunity.
3. Moses had space to hear God.

a. Exodus 3:5-6 Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” 6 Then he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God

b. Moses was mentally and physically available.

c. Busyness is ofter the enemy of spirituality.
4. Moses realized he had a purpose.

a. Exodus 3:7-10 The Lord said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. 8 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. 9 And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. 10So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”

b. Moses was to go and set the Israelites free.

c. Purpose drives performance.
5. Moses knew God was with him.

a. Exodus 3:12 And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”

b. Moses heard God say, “I will be with you.”

c. There is comfort in not being alone.
These five things allowed Moses to hear God’s Extraordinary call...and the reality is God is calling everyone to something extraordinary...but the question is, can you hear God?

Are you doing the little things in your faith today?

Are you intrigued by God?

Do you have space to hear God?

Do you understand your purpose?

Do you know that God is with you?

If not, make some changes in your walk with Christ this week so you can hear God’s call in your life

REFLECT Questions to reflect on in your personal quiet time, with the family and/or in your Life Group.

1. What one point personally stood out from the message and why?

2. Moses was able to hear God’s call because he was already where God wanted him to be as a shepherd. In comparison to Moses leading the Israelites, this was a small task, but Moses remained faithful...what are some little things that God is asking you to remain faithful to?

3. Read Exodus 3:3...Moses was intrigued by the bush. What do you think it looks like to be intrigued by God?

4. One of the things that allowed Moses to hear God’s call was him having space to actually hear God. Would other people look at your life and say that you have space to hear God? Why or why not?

5. What does knowing God is with you mean to you in regards to answering God’s call to live an extraordinary life?

RESPOND What personal response and/or possible life change do you have to what you have heard?

REACH OUT In regards to what has been revealed to you, what intentional action can you take this week to impact someone else for Christ?
