In this message series we are seeing that Jesus had a message for the seven churches of Asia Minor. Jesus has a message for the church still today. Since we are followers of Christ and make up the church today, Jesus has a message for each of us individually. Let's continue to have listening ears and hearts to what Jesus has to say to us in the sixth church he speaks to: the church in Philadelphia, the healthy church.

John 13:35

From Peter: 1 Peter 2:17, 3:8, 4:8-9:
-Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.
-Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.
-Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.
From Paul: Romans 12:9-10:
-Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; host fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
Ephesians 4:15,29,31-32:
-Rather speaking the truth in love,we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as it fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
From John:1 John 3:18, 4:7, 11:
-Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
-Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
-Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
4 Qualities of loving well:
*Serve HUMBLY
*Forgive CONSTANTLY
*Honor FREELY
*Admonish TRUTHFULLY
3 Promises for a Healthy Church:
1) Jesus Protects them, v. 9
2) Jesus Delivers them, v. 10
3) Jesus Honors them, v. 12

Revelation 3:9-12

As we continue in this series, Revelation Part One: The Church, we will learn that Jesus' messages to His churches in Revelation still ring true today. The best way we can be prepared for what faces us in our tomorrows is by living ready for Jesus' return today. Let's learn to be ever-ready as we "hear what the Spirit says to the churches."

Since church is all about relationships, what role do church leaders and members play in ensuring that their church is a healthy church? Since “We ARE Bent Tree” and as the people go, so goes the church, what can you do personally to create a healthy environment at Bent Tree?
