Intro: Faith of a mother
A. John 2:1-10 – The next day there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration. 3 The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.” 4 “Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.” 5 But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” 6 Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing. Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons. 7 Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” When the jars had been filled, 8 he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions. 9 When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over. 10 “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!”

C. Scripture has many declarations about a mom's influence
D. Mary says, in Vs 5 “do whatever He tells you to do”
E. As parents we teach our children the things of God & then we have faith & trust in them to do right
F. God’s word, will not return void but will accomplish God’s will
1. Dedication of a parent
A. Job 1:4-5 – Job’s sons would take turns preparing feasts in their homes, and they would also invite their three sisters to celebrate with them. 5 When these celebrations ended, sometimes after several days, Job would purify his children. He would get up early in the morning and offer a burnt offering for each of them. For Job said to himself, “Perhaps my children have sinned and have cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular practice.
B. Intercession is necessary today for our youth & children
C. Young people today, are on fire for God! Fearless!
D. We train our kids to go out and change the world, not keep it the way it’s always been
E. It’s time to invest in the spiritual training & trust of our youth
F. Remember, children are created in the image of Christ & are called to do the greatest thing of all (witness)
2. Commitment of Youth
A. 1 Timothy 4:12-16 – Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. 13 Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them. 14 Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the prophecy spoken over you when the elders of the church laid their hands on you. 15 Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress. 16 Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you.
B. Instead of criticizing youth, pray for them & join them in ministry
C. Young person, know what you stand for
D. Being right with God is essential, but seldom popular
E. Make a commitment to serve God no matter what.
3. Commandment to love
A. 1 John 2:7-11 – Dear friends, I am not writing a new commandment for you; rather it is an old one you have had from the very beginning. This old commandment, to love one another, is the same message you heard before. 8 Yet it is also new. Jesus lived the truth of this commandment, and you also are living it. For the darkness is disappearing, and the true light is already shining. 9 If anyone claims, “I am living in the light,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is still living in darkness. 10 Anyone who loves a fellow believer is living in the light and does not cause others to stumble. 11 But anyone who hates a fellow believer is still living and walking in darkness. Such a person does not know the way to go, having been blinded by the darkness.
B. We know we are to love others, but now we love others because we experience Christ’s love in our own lives
C. Remembering what Jesus did for us, while we were His enemy
D. We should be more worried about our own issues before pointing a finger at others
E. When we read/study & His word lives in us, His love will also!
F. Its stress free; you just get to love without worrying about fixing everyone
