Question 1: The credibility of the Apostles to testify to the truth about Jesus’ life, ministry, death, and resurrection is featured prominently in these verses. What qualifications were needed in the apostle appointed in verses 21-26? Why was this so vitally important for their ministry?

Question 2: How “big” of an issue is our own credibility before the lost? How can a failure in our credibility before the lost negatively affect our witness for Christ?

Question 3: Sometimes when we think about our credibility before the lost we talk about having a “good testimony” before the lost. What do we mean by that?

Question 4: What role does the heart play in our credibility?

a.) Is being a credible witness before the lost only a matter of external truthfulness or conformity?

b.) How might a mere, external credibility negatively affect our testimony to the Gospel?

c.) How might the answers to this question relate back to the discussion on having a “good testimony”? How might our definition of having a “good testimony” actually disagree with God’s definition?

d.) Are there areas in your heart that need to change in order for you to be an affective witness for Christ? How might we pray for you in this area?

Question 5: How then does a Christian maintain a credible witness before the lost? How might a Christian lose credibility before the lost?

Question 6: Are there any places in your life where your credibility is damaged? For instance, do you have unsaved family, friends, etc. with whom you need to take an initiative to restore your relationship? How can we pray for you as you seek to restore your credibility?
