2016 Theme Scriptures: (Matthew 7:13-14; Jeremiah 6:16)

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

"This is what the Lord says: Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Romans 10:17 NAS
Paul

A person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ.

Galatians 2:15
Paul

He used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group.

Galatians 2:12
Shunning a spiritual brother is simply wrong.
Our church will not do anything that makes it unreasonably difficult for people to get to God.
When we drift away from grace, we embrace death.
Religion tries to box you in. Christianity doesn’t!
Legalism always divides. Grace brings unity.
Legalism makes one person better than the other. Grace levels the playing field.
Legalism makes us judgmental. Grace makes us honoring of one another.
City Life Core Value:

PRESENCE – We highly value the presence of God while striving to walk in unity and harmony with one another.
We know that without the presence of God, we are wasting our efforts, therefore we call upon the Holy Spirit to be present and active both in our lives and our gatherings. Knowing that God blesses certain settings with his glory, we choose to embrace one another:
We celebrate diversity, where people can belong regardless of age, ethnicity, culture or background.
We honor one another without merit, choosing to believe the best about one another, being slow to speak, quick to listen, and eager to serve.
We choose to be united in our hearts and spirits, assured that no force in hell can tear a unified body apart.
We choose to stand with one another through both the joys and the sorrows of life as well as through successes and failures.
This only works when we are a people of grace!
Grace basically means "gift”
Grace can’t be earned, and we don’t deserve it.
Grace is the truest of God’s freedom!
To whom do you need to extend grace?

• Friend
• Work associate
• Spouse
• Family member
• Person who burned you
• Yourself
How to give grace: Kill the sinner inside.
Paul

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God

Galatians 2:20-21
How to give grace: Be ALIVE in Jesus!
