Has Your Well Run Dry?
During this life training of boot camp, we often feel we are in a dry season. More often than not, mankind seeks the wrong well and comes up empty.
Jesus came to a town called Sychar in Samaria and rested as he sat down by Jacob’s well. As he sat to rest, a Samaritan woman came to draw water from the well. When Jesus saw her, he asked her for a drink. Jewish persons did not associate with Samaritans, so his question took her by surprise, and she questioned him as to why He would ask her for water. As you read today’s scripture out of John 4, you will see that her question opened a dialogue between the two. It was a golden opportunity for Jesus to reveal who He was when He told her things about her life that made her realize He was more than just any man.
Jesus told us how to fill the dry places in life. Jesus answered and said to her: “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:13-14 NKJV
Both in the Old and New Testaments, we are reminded where to fill our tanks, so to speak!
On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” John 7:37-38 NKJV
“The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.” Isaiah 58:11 NKJV
Never believe that drinking will drown your sorrows, that a one-night stand will fill the void, that the high from drugs is the answer … instead, run to the vast reservoir that only Jesus can supply!
Prayer: Lord, so many times we seek the wrong things to get that fix that never lasts. Open our spirit minds, Lord, that we will see that only You can fill us to the full. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
About this Plan

Compared to eternity, life on earth is but a short time. The world is home to an estimated 722,000 centenarians (age 100), according to the United Nations’ population projections for 2024. That is, .02 to .03% of the world’s population. Whether we die young or live to be old, what we do in between will matter. Living here is boot camp training to qualify for heaven!
