Once a quarter we gather together for a meal (pot-luck style) and celebrate all that God has done and is doing in one another's lives and through our church.

Today is our last Sunday teaching in our series on the book of James.
Take a moment and reflect on the lessons you have learned from the book of James.

The book of James calls believers to wholehearted living that reflects a genuine faith.
These last few verses describe what that looks like in prayer, confession, and community.

Turn towards God:
Pray, praise, and pray for each other in community--this is what genuine faith looks like.
Genuine faith is not a wholly private experience, it is meant to be experienced and participated in with others and in community.

The call is not to discern the source of sickness, but to pray for the sick.
The bible calls us to participate in and practice confession.

We are being called to confess to one another and pray for one another.

Our faith is for us, but it isn't just about us and isn't meant to stop with us.

The call of James is to live out a genuine faith wholeheartedly--in every arena of your life: not only in your private life, but also in community with others.

We believe in an open communion, and would like to invite anyone who has professed faith in Jesus to participate with us this morning.
Communion elements will be made available at the close of service at the front of the room, please wait to come forward until we have prayed for communion.
The bread represents the body of Christ.
The juice/cup represents the blood of Christ.

BAPTISM
Are you ready to be baptized? In the Bible, when people come to faith in Christ, and they ask "what do I do now?" the answer is consistently baptism. In baptism, we identify with Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection as we lay down our lives in the water, and come to new life in Christ. If you believe Jesus is Lord and are ready to make that declaration in your life, sign up and we would love to baptize you.
