Raising Kingdom-Minded Children in a Broken World - 30-Day DevotionalSample

Day 18 – Talking About Media, Phones, and Friends
Scripture: “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” – Proverbs 4:23 (NIV)
Reflection
Our kids are growing up in a world filled with screens, media, and constant connection. Phones, shows, music, and social media shape how they think and feel. These things can be fun and even helpful, but they can also be dangerous if not handled with wisdom.
As parents, we cannot ignore these influences. Instead, we need to talk openly about them. When we invite honest conversations, we teach our children to guard their hearts and make wise choices. Setting boundaries is not about control, it is about protecting what matters most.
Biblical Affirmation for Your Children
“My children will guard their hearts and use media and friendships with wisdom.”
Prayer
Lord, give me wisdom to guide my children in how they use media, technology, and friendships. Help me to set healthy boundaries that protect their hearts. May they learn to choose what is pure, good, and honoring to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Action Step for Parents
Start a conversation with your child about media or friends. Ask them what they like and why, and gently guide them toward making wise choices.
