Raising Kingdom-Minded Children in a Broken World - 30-Day DevotionalSample

Day 11 – Discipling Through Conversations
Scripture: “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” – Proverbs 18:21 (NIV)
Reflection
Some of the most powerful discipleship moments happen in ordinary conversations. Our words have power, and as parents, the way we speak to our children shapes how they see themselves and how they see God.
Every question they ask is an open door to talk about faith. Every hard moment is a chance to remind them of God’s truth. We do not need to have all the answers. What matters is being present, listening, and pointing them to God’s wisdom with our words. These little conversations add up over time and leave a lasting mark.
Biblical Affirmation for Your Children
“My words will speak life over my children and point them toward God’s truth.”
Prayer
Father, help me to use my words to build up my children and not tear them down. Teach me to listen well and to answer with wisdom and love. May every conversation with them be an opportunity to point them closer to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Action Step for Parents
Be intentional about one conversation today. Instead of brushing it off, pause, listen, and weave in a word of encouragement or a reminder of God’s truth.
