35 Day Prayer Plan

DAY 35 OF 35

Day 35 – Lamenting with Hope

A lament is never the end of the story. Even as we grieve sin, brokenness, injustice, suffering, delay, and loss, we hold a greater hope: God will make all things new. Revelation promises that every tear will be wiped away, every pain healed, every sorrow lifted.

Lamenting with hope is a way of living between the “already” and the “not yet.” We already know Jesus has conquered sin and death, but we do not yet see the fullness of that victory. Our lament acknowledges the pain of now while clinging to the certainty of God’s final restoration.

Even as we cling to God’s promises, we must remember His timing is perfect. What may seem delayed to us is never late to Him. Just as Habakkuk was told that the vision would not tarry but would come at its appointed time, we too can wait with assurance that God’s word will not fail. His promises are anchored in His unchanging nature: He cannot lie and fail. Therefore, our waiting is not wasted but is filled with purpose, shaping our character and drawing us closer to the heart of the one who always keeps His word.

This kind of lament strengthens faith. It allows us to grieve honestly without despair, to mourn deeply without losing sight of God’s promises. It transforms our sorrow into anticipation of the day He will dwell with us forever.

Today, bring your laments to God, but do so with hope. Let your tears point you to the promise of eternity with Him. Trust that every sorrow will give way to joy in His presence.
