DAY 3 OF 10

Deepening the Conversation

Prayer is the space where the Shepherd calls us by name. Not a distant God who shouts from afar, but a close, attentive Shepherd who leans in to listen. He already hears the unspoken words in your heart and knows you intimately.

When Jesus says, “My sheep hear my voice,” He’s inviting us into a relationship marked by trust and familiarity. The Shepherd knows our wounds, questions, and longings—and welcomes us to bring them all. We don’t need perfect words or polished faith. We just come ready to listen and respond.

What if prayer is less about getting God to hear us, and more about learning to hear Him? What if He’s already speaking—already calling your name?

Hearing His Voice: A Call to Attentiveness
God’s voice is near, but our hurried lives can drown it out. Attentiveness in prayer isn’t about perfect silence—it’s about a heart that says, “Speak, Lord, I’m listening.” Listening is an act of love, a way of leaning in toward the One already leaning toward us.

Known by God: A Call to Intimacy
Before we pray, God knows. He sees every fear, hope, and ache—and holds them tenderly. Prayer isn’t about getting His attention; it’s resting in the truth that we already have it. Imagine praying from a place of being fully seen and fully loved.

Responding to His Voice: A Call to Trust
The Shepherd’s voice doesn’t just comfort—it guides. Even in silence, He is present. Trust means taking the next step even when the way is unclear. Prayer becomes a daily act of surrender—responding to His love, even without all the answers.

Prayer: Shepherd of my soul, thank You for calling me by name. Teach me to listen for Your voice and trust Your love, even in the quiet.

Reflection Questions:
1) Believing God Hears: Do you truly believe God hears you when you pray? What experiences have shaped this belief?
2) Answered Prayers: When was the last time you saw God answer a prayer you prayed?

About this Plan

Conversations

Conversations is a 10-day devotional exploring the spiritual power of words and the sacred gift of dialogue. From prayer to cross-cultural relationships, from encouragement to evangelism, this journey invites you to speak with intentionality, humility, and love. Rooted in the example of Jesus and anchored in Scripture, each day reflects on how conversations—with God, with others, and even with those far from faith—can become holy ground. Through daily reflections, prayers, and questions, you’ll learn to listen more deeply, speak more truthfully, and live more prayerfully. You were made for conversation, and your words can create worlds.
