Preparing for OutpouringSample

Be United in Prayer
After Jesus ascended, His followers didn’t scatter—they gathered. Before any miracles, before Pentecost power, there was prayer. Unified. Ongoing. Earnest. They weren’t praying because they had all the answers. They were praying because they didn’t. What held them together wasn’t perfect understanding—it was shared dependence. And in that shared space, the Spirit would soon fall. Unity in prayer doesn’t mean uniformity—it means hearts aligned toward the same hope. When we set aside distractions and come together to seek God, something powerful begins to take shape. God meets united people with uncommon power.
Prayer: Gracious Father, draw our hearts together as one. Teach us to pray with humility, expectancy, and unity. Where there is division, bring peace. Where there is apathy, stir passion. May we be a people of one accord—devoted to You and to one another. Come, Holy Spirit. Unite us in prayer and purpose. Amen.
Reflection:
- What does it look like to devote myself to prayer, not just individually, but with others?
- When was a time when I experienced true unity with other believers?
