Simple Prayer: How to Pray Like JesusSample

Father
The Father Who Provides
Read: Psalm 68
"A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling..." (Psalm 68:5 NIV)
Devotional Thought:
Psalm 68 portrays God as a mighty warrior and a loving father who provides for those in need. He is not distant but deeply involved in our lives. When we say “Our Father,” we remember we belong to a God who provides and draws us into his family.
Reflection Activity:
Think of a time when God has provided for you—through resources, encouragement, or people.
- Breath Prayer: Inhale: “Father, you provide…”
Exhale: “…and I trust you.” - Write a short prayer of thanks. If prompted, consider how you could be God’s provision for someone else today.
Prayer Practice: Ongoing Conversation
As needs arise today—big or small—simply turn your thoughts into prayer. Say, “Father, here’s what I need,” or “Father, thank you for this.” Keep the conversation open.
Prayer:
Father, thank you for being my provider. You know my needs before I even speak of them. Help me to trust in your care and be attentive to those around me. Use me as an extension of your love today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
