You may have heard that too much of anything can be a bad thing. Perhaps that made you frustrated in that moment because you just wanted more. From food to experiences, we’ve all been there. It’s never easy practicing self-control, but, as the Proverb says, when you don’t have self-control your entire life can be ruined. Self-control reminds us to use wisdom as we make decisions. Self-control helps us decide what we choose to do or not do because our choices impact our lives. As followers of Jesus, displaying self-control is one way that we show that we have God’s Spirit. God gives us His Spirit. It’s our job to then grow and mature in self-control. What’s something you find yourself craving? Whether good or bad, ask God’s spirit, the Holy Spirit, to help you practice self-control today.
