God's Redemption Story (The Prophets)Sample

Jeremiah Week 2 – Day 5
The kings and the people of Israel hated the prophets, because of their repetitive messages about sin and punishment. At one point, Jeremiah was imprisoned in a mud hole. But the people missed the point of Jeremiah’s message. He was warning them about their sin and punishment in order to point them to God’s much better plan.
The second half of Jeremiah 30 details the great things God intended for His people. He didn’t want to simply stop punishment. His plan included thanksgiving, making merry, multiplying honor, and establishing Israel as His people so He could be their God. All of that adds up to more than basic happiness. It equals true, deep joy. That was God’s plan for them, and it’s His plan for you.
