God's Redemption Story (The Prophets)Sample

Jeremiah Week 3 – Day 2
The people of Israel had a bad habit of getting themselves into trouble. They’d make friends with the neighbors, start worshiping foreign gods, and then get conquered by the neighbors—over and over again. Every time, they begged God to save them in that specific situation. We do the same, don’t we? God, I spent all my money; please help me pay the bills. God, I’m in this bad relationship; get me out. God, I argued with my boss; please don’t let me get fired.
But Jeremiah 33 says the children of Israel were shortsighted, and so are we. God wants so much more for us than nice things and a happy day. His plan for redemption includes forgiveness, cleansing, healing, and new life. He wants to fix the root problem in our hearts, not just change our outcome.
