SEALED Entering Day 6, Ephesians 1:13 introduces the sealing of believers by the Holy Spirit. They think their redemption is something frail and feeble. But on the contrary, our redemption is more sure and solid than we can imagine. In our text, the Apostle assures us that we have been sealed by the Holy Spirit. The cords that bind us to God are as eternal as the Holy Spirit by whom we were sealed. It's not a frail or feeble redemption. We are God's possession, not just for a while or when we are at our best. Rather, in all seasons and phases of life, throughout our journey in this world, we will carry about the seal that we are God's own and that we are deeply and eternally connected to the Father-God. Being sealed by the Holy Spirit is proof and assurance that we are citizens of heaven and that when Christ returns at His second coming, He will in no way leave us behind but will take us to where we belong-- eternally at home with Him.
