DAY 4 OF 6

BLOTTED OUT As we step into Day 4 of our journey, Colossians 2:13-14 unveils the profound truth that, in Christ, our slate is wiped clean of all offenses. Explore with anticipation the freedom that comes with the complete blotting out of every record of wrongdoing, allowing us to stand before God and men as if we have never sinned. "And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his CROSS." Colossians 2:13-14 KJV Our text reveals a solemn and gracious truth; we have no record of offenses or debts against us, all our debts have been fully paid. Just imagine you were owing a bank a huge sum of money which you were unable to pay. You panic because the bank is about to throw you into prison but suddenly someone pays the debt for you. It automatically means your record of debt is completely wiped off. You walk around like a free man and sleep well at night knowing that you owe no man nothing. This is what we have through the redemptive work of Christ. The ordinances against us are totally erased. We have no record of sin or wrongdoing--this is a legal fact. Knowing this sets us free from the haunting shadows of our past. We can agree with God and say, "I have no past of evil because my slate is clean of all offenses." The forgiveness we have in Christ is not just a pardon, it is the complete blotting out of every record of offense. We can stand before God and men as people who have never done any wrong. A lot of believers wallow in regret and fear of past mistakes but that is wrong. You are not a victim of past mistakes. Through the redemptive work of Christ and His forgiveness, our past is over and completely wiped clean of any sin or wrong. You are a new creature and your past is gone. Glory to God!
