“Nic At Night” Spend-the-night parties are fun! You have snacks, play games, and stay up late! It’s funny how weird some conversations get when we stay up late. We get so tired and slaphappy, but we also become more open and willing to be honest with our questions and answers. In this story, Nicodemus had some things to talk to Jesus about, but chose to do it at night rather in front of everyone else. That conversation led to a radical change in his belief in Jesus. Nicodemus was a teacher, a man full of knowledge about God and all that God desired. Yet in this encounter we see a conversation at night with Jesus open up a whole new understanding about how to be under God’s authority. Jesus was more than a “teacher” doing amazing things. He was the savior of the entire world! All it took for Nicodemus was to start over and trust in Jesus. What about you? What role does Jesus play in your life? Is He just a teacher?
