Day 6 Read – Acts 6 Acts 6:8 "Stephen, full of grace and power, was performing great wonders and signs among the people." Stephen was quite an awesome man. From the descriptions that we have in Acts about him, he was on fire for Jesus and was all about telling others about Him. However, he did not do these things out of his own strength, but he was full of the Holy Spirit. The verse above also says that he was full of grace. So what exactly does that mean? I think it might me something like this. In order for the Holy Spirit to be the most that He can be in our lives we have to get out of the way by releasing our lives to Him through faith. When I look at other translations of the first part of this verse it says that Stephen is full of faith and power. So for us to be used to the fullest extent by the Holy Spirit, we must be full of faith and thus power will be overflowing from us. So how is your faith today? Spend some time thinking about why is our faith different than Stephen's and give it back to God. Ask Him to show you where you are lacking faith and to guide you to turning over to Him. Lord, I know your Holy Spirit is the same today as it was in the first century. Lord, help us to know a faith like Stephen's. Help us to see where our lives are lacking a resolve for you and turn us to you.
