Walking With Jesus

DAY 31 OF 40

### Become a Worshipper Praise proclaims God's greatness and majesty. We thank God for all He has done, exalt Him magnify Him, honour Him and glorify Him through our praise. Worship proclaims Who God is. He is worthy of our worship. He does not merely deserve nice words, but our lives should be a worship song unto Him. Our lifestyle must bring glory to Him. The main Greek term for worship is proskuneo , meaning “to kiss the hand” or “to reverence” “Obedience is the highest form of worship.” –John Bevere God comes and establishes His throne in our lives when we praise Him. Praise and worship are a lifestyle. If our deeds are not in line with what we proclaim, we are only pretending with God, we are not being real with Him We must not approach God with our own interests in mind, but with the knowledge that He is a good God. We do not come to Him because of what we want from Him, but because of who He is. Action: * We approach God by firstly thanking Him. List seven things you want to thank Him for. * Read Psalm 96 to 100 aloud and praise the Lord! Testimony: On a mission trip to Malawi, in Southern Africa, we completed many outreaches and by the time we came to the last one, I was exhausted and irritated. All I wanted was to go home. I was not in the mood to worship and became very negative, even complaining to God that I felt used. Then I saw a man in a wheelchair coming to the front of the church. Both his legs were amputated at his knees. He lifted himself out of the wheelchair and began to dance in the dust. I can still remember the words of the song: “He turned my mourning into dancing again.” It was a life-changing moment as I repented of my selfishness and made the decision to worship God no matter what the circumstances may be. We have so much to be thankful for.
