Walking With Jesus

DAY 35 OF 40

### Become a Disciple-Maker The ultimate goal of our discipleship should be to make other disciples. God has called us to make disciples of the nations. Jesus never said: “Come follow me, because I have a wonderful plan for your life and I want to bless you.” Although the gift of salvation is free, it will cost us our lives to follow Jesus. Some marks of a true disciple: * A person who has committed his life to Christ * A person who believes in the finished work of Jesus * A person who loves and obeys the work of God * A person who serves God and others wholeheartedly * A teachable and humble person * A faithful person * A person whose fruit is evident in his service for God and the Body of Christ * A person who witnesses to others and disciples them Discipleship is God’s strategy to reach the nations. Self-discovery: * Who should we focus on when choosing a disciple? (2 Timothy 2:2) * How does a disciple become like his Lord? (Luke 6:40; 2 Timothy 1:9) * What must a disciple do? (Mark 8:34; Galatians 2:20) * What is the main thing we are commanded to teach a disciple? (Matthew 28:20; 1 John 3:2-3) Reflection questions (write your answers in a journal): * Which areas must you still grow in (to become a true disciple)? Action: Identify two other people who are new believers and think of ways in which you can serve them.
