God Sees Me
In other translations of today’s text, it is clear that Hagar was in awe of the Lord, who encountered her in her greatest need. The Lord spoke to her, prophesying her future and the future of her descendants. Though she may have felt disregarded by the people around her, including Sarah and Abraham, God met her in a powerful moment of kindness. Her response shows her wonder: “You are the God who sees me…I have now seen the One who sees me” (NIV).
Have you had an encounter with the love of Christ which has made you feel seen? There are no mysteries to God. He knows your past, your present, and your future. He is close to you. If you need encouragement from him, do not hesitate to ask! He is ready to speak words of life into your heart today.
Act of Courage: Ask God to speak to you in a way that makes you feel seen and known by him.
